XB3001 GAMES PROPOSAL #7: Research for Character Modelling

My perpetual laziness strikes yet again! I've been working on the second assignment for this module for weeks now and somehow forgotten to post anything in that time. Oh well, it's time to rectify that...

The second assignment for Games Proposal involves designing two characters related to our chosen themes and modelling them. The catch is that one has to be low-poly (only 600 tris), the other high (around 6,000 tris).
I began my design by doing a quick brainstorm to decide which direction I wanted to go in. I've added an image of this below:-

As you can see, I was interested in designs that reflected either the lighter/darker sides of our natures or represented our more primal natures breaking out. In the end I chose to once again use Freud's theory of the Id, Ego and Superego for inspiration. See my notes of that from XB3001 post #4 for details about this theory.

I then created a mood board for each character. These can be seen below:-

Low Poly Character Mood Board

6. Photograph of a domestic goat.
7. Close-up photograph of a domestic goat. Found on Google search (can’t seem to find it again, it was something to do with goats)

That about covers the research for this assignment. I'll add the actual development of my character another time; still need to finish it up to make it presentable. Until next time!
